Building Connections: Inauguration of the ICAA University Club Initiative

Published on September 24, 2024

The newly launched “University Representative Committee” of ICAA, headed by Karim El Kabbani from the Class of 2015, is embarking on an exciting initiative to enhance connections among IC alumni at universities. The committee's first project is the creation of the "University Club," which aims to establish student clubs for IC alumni at various universities, starting with the American University of Beirut (AUB) and the Lebanese American University (LAU).

These clubs will serve as dynamic platforms for alumni at universities to engage with current IC students, organizing events that align with the interests of the IC community at universities and IC students about to graduate from school. By facilitating networking opportunities and hosting informative events through these clubs, the initiative will guide students in their career choices and help them navigate their university experiences. In particular, these events will offer crucial support to current alumni at AUB as they pursue advanced degrees and professional development, allowing them to leverage the wealth of knowledge and experience from established alumni. Overall, this initiative not only strengthens the IC community but also empowers its members to thrive academically and professionally.

Today, Karim hosted the inaugural meeting of the “ICAA AUB Club,” at BREW Coffee and Community (an IC Alumni owned cafe), bringing together members from the 2018, 2023 and 2024 IC graduating classes. The gathering was a wonderful opportunity for students to connect, learn about the club’s mission, and share a few laughs. Attendees enthusiastically discussed ideas to enhance the club's impact on the IC community.

The meeting was both fruitful and enjoyable, with everyone expressing a warm welcome to this exciting initiative. Participants committed to expanding the club's reach and incorporating as many IC alumni as possible at the university level, ensuring it becomes a vital resource for the community.
