Editorial: Strengthening Our ICAA Community Through Support and Education:

I’m Ruba Khoury, Class of 1994, and this is my first term serving on the ICAA board. I currently chair the Awards and Fundraising Committee. I strongly believe that the strength of the IC community lies in how we continue to support one another long after graduation. The ICAA Award is a powerful expression of that spirit—alumni coming together to help their own pursue education and a better future.

The Awards and Fundraising Committee, which I have the privilege of chairing, plays a central role in the mission of the ICAA by overseeing and driving the ICAA Awards Program. This initiative is designed to support graduating students enrolled in local universities by pairing them with sponsors who can help ease the financial burden of their undergraduate studies. Through this program, we aim not only to recognize academic excellence and perseverance but also to foster meaningful connections between students and sponsors, creating a ripple effect of support and engagement within the community.

This year, we are proud to welcome a new class of five outstanding awardees from the class of 2025 into the ICAA Awards Program. Their academic achievements, determination, and potential embody the very spirit of this initiative. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the generous donors who have made it possible for these students to pursue their studies with confidence and stability. Your support goes far beyond financial assistance—it sends a powerful message of encouragement and belief in the next generation. We are deeply grateful for your continued partnership and commitment to empowering youth through education

Beyond the awards program, the committee is also responsible for organizing and executing fundraising events that generate the necessary resources to sustain the broader initiatives endorsed by the ICAA Board. These events not only help secure financial contributions but also raise awareness of the ICAA’s mission and foster a sense of community among alumni, partners, and supporters. The committee works collaboratively to ensure that every initiative—whether a scholarship, mentoring program, or community outreach effort—has the financial backing it needs to thrive.
